Giving Redcliffe youth a voice
Redcliffe Youth Advisory Council (RYAC) has started it 2026 program for 12 peninsula students.
The first workshop featured a brainstorming session for members to come up with ideas to help give Redcliffe youth a voice.
Suggestions included addressing poor behaviour in schools, information on career pathways, financial literacy, environmental volunteering, bullying and access to mental health services.
This year’s 12 RYAC members are:

“Hearing directly from Redcliffe youth about what is important to them, their challenges and how the state government can help them navigate their school and teenage years better is one reason I started RYAC,” State Member for Redcliffe Kerri-Anne Dooley said.
“Also to provide a platform for them to give back, understand what all three levels of government are responsible for and to learn more about themselves through a personal development workshop”.
The RAYC members were nominated by schools, self nominated or recommended by parents and teachers for the nine-month program working Kerri-Anne Dooley in four workshops.
To participate students must live in Redcliffe and be aged 14-21.
In July members will join a personal development workshop on DISC profiling with Action Coach Brad Flynn and in September visit Parliament House for a tour, meet the Premier and listen to question time.
The program concludes in November with a family/carer morning tea to present certificates of completion.
