Grace team books place at nationals

Grace Swimming will have a relay team at the national championships, in April on the Gold Coast next year.

The club’s 14 and Under Girls freestyle squad - Macey Lawler, Elailah Rodd, Soha Foroush and Olivia Smith – qualified at the Brisbane Metropolitan Relay Championships.

They clocked 1 minute 54.67 seconds in the 4x50m relay over the weekend to finish eighth and book their place in the nationals.

Rothwell-based Grace had 39 swimmers, see feature picture, at the Brisbane event, in Chandler and the majority returned personal bests against tough competition.

The juniors had six teams in 18 relays: 9–10 Boys – Freestyle, Medley, Mixed relays; 9-10 Girls - Freestyle, Medley, Mixed relays; 12 and Under Boys – two teams in each of Freestyle, Medley, Mixed relays; 12 and Under Girls – two teams in each of Freestyle, Medley, Mixed relays.

Grace Seniors had four teams in 12 relays: 14 and Under Boys – two teams in each of Freestyle, Medley, Mixed relays. 14 and Under Girls - Freestyle, Medley, Mixed relays. 16 and Under - Freestyle, Medley, Mixed relays.
