Huge $50m complex taking shape

One of Moreton Bay’s biggest developments, the $50 million Country Club Hotel at Strathpine, is taking shape - fast.

The car park (supported by around 1000 piers) and entry to the complex are being finalised, with framework and roofs of the main structures now in place.

Tenants are also being secured. Area 51 was one of the first and will open a 6000sqm play space with climbing walls, a trampoline park, high ropes course and ninja park.

Fitness Cartel. which recently opened new centres at Morayfield and Kippa-Ring, will also be at the five-hectare Country Club Hotel site, on Gympie Rd.

Guzman Y Gomez will be in the food precinct and more tenants are set to be announced as work continues towards the estimated opening early in 2027.

On its website, Comiskey Group says: “The complex will become the ultimate destination for participating in and watching sports.”

It will feature an arcade room, eight lanes of bowling, two pickleball courts, two virtual baseball simulators, four karaoke rooms and two half-sized basketball courts.

There will also be an American-style sports bar, steak house and barbecue pit.

However, Comiskey Group has withdrawn TAB betting facilities from all its venues following a dispute over signing a new five-year agreement.

The Country Club Hotel is named after a famous pub in Strathpine, which dated back to the 1950s but was demolished around 20 years ago.

Ironically, Comiskey Group Director David Comiskey’s first job was at the original hotel, in the liquor barn.
