New COVID-19 cases are overseas travellers
Queensland has recorded four new COVID-19 cases since yesterday, all of them international travellers in hotel quarantine.
Deputy Premier and Murrumba MP Steven Miles says one of the patients arrived from Papua New Guinea, two from Lebanon and one from India, with no new cases of community transmission.
“It highlights how it is better to lock down for three days than for three months,” he says.
Testing still critical
Deputy Chief Health Officer Dr Sonya Bennett says a reduction in the number of people being tested for COVID-19 was not unexpected, but it is possible there could be new cases associated with two COVID-19 clusters arising from the PA Hospital.
“Please check the list of exposure sites (visited by people in the clusters) and if you have symptoms, please get a test,” she says.
“We have still got a period of time before we can be absolutely confident we don’t have any community transmissions.
