Guzman y Gomez (GYG) will create around 100 new jobs with the opening of its fifth restaurant in the Moreton Bay Region on Tuesday.

GYG Warner will join Albany Creek, Morayfield, North Lakes and Rothwell when its doors open for the first time at 7am on May 16.

The region's sixth GYG will open at Kippa-Ring mid this year followed by Murrumba Downs later this year.

Franchisees Lauren and Lindsay Springall have hired locally for many positions, including crew, shift leaders and cooks.

“We have hired approximately 100 staff with the vast majority coming from the local area, including roughly 70 (current and former) school kids from Bray Park State High School and Genesis Christian College,” Lindsay said.

“My wife and I were keen to find an opportunity we were passionate about and one where we could build up a business of our own.

“Lauren has been a high school teacher her whole career and is motivated by the opportunity to have a positive impact on youth in our community.

“Having a 25-year career in finance and managing teams of people I know that at the end of the day, it is people who make it.

“That’s why hiring the right people has been crucial for us.”

As part of Tuesday's opening celebrations, GYG Warner will offer $5 burritos and bowls, free coffee and have a live Mariachi band.

GYG Warner will have a dual-lane drive-thru, dine-in seating and online/app ordering at 357 Samsonvale Rd, by Marketplace Warner.

The online/app ordering will not be available on the opening day, but will operate from Wednesday May 17.
