Major new development at Griffin

Plans have been unveiled for a new development in Griffin with a shopping centre, park, farm and 126 houses.

Wattle Run says construction of Freshwater Hub will begin next year and finish in the latter part of 2024, subject to weather and supplies.

It will have four sections, Village, Park, Farm and Place whose features include:

Village plan

Freshwater Village – a shopping complex anchored by Woolworths with stores including BWS, a barber, tobacconist and lottery, bakery and real estate agency.

The Piazza will be for alfresco dining with an entertainment area for live music

Urban Arts Square is to be a covered green space for community activities such as busking, art exhibitions and children’s story time

Park and farm

The Leisure and Activity Centre will have a gym, swimming pool and restaurants.

Freshwater Park will include walking tracks and a recreational area.

Freshwater Farm will provide produce urban farming opportunities, but no cattle or livestock.

House and land

Freshwater Place is to have 126 house and land packages and is being developed by Marquee.

A new internal road will be built running from Wesley Rd to Brays Rd, where there will be a signalled intersection. The new road will be named Arcadia Drive.
