The Redcliffe Dolphins set a new club record and remain undefeated 10 games in a row, following a decisive Hostplus Cup win over Wynnum Manly Seagulls at Moreton Daily Stadium on Sunday.

The 28-18 win means the Dolphins have now leapfrogged Wynnum to fourth position on the ladder behind the Capras (third), Falcons (second) and Bears (first).

Redcliffe opened the ledger in the first five minutes, with a try to Viliami Vailea, and good defence kept Wynnum scoreless until the 18th minute.

The first of two tries to Jeremiah Simbiken in the 33rd minute, put the Dolphins ahead 12-6 at halftime.

Tries also to Rocco Berry and Adam Pompey in the second half put the side in a commanding position and while Wynnum scored twice more, they were unable to bridge the gap.

The home side’s backline looked slick in attack, they defended well and Daejarn Asi’s kicking game was on point – converting four from five attempts.

The Dolphins will face 14th-placed Souths Logan Magpies in round 18 at Davies Park on Sunday at 3pm.
