Pitch big ideas at inaugural Creative Industries Demo Day

Creative businesses across the Moreton Bay Region with big ideas or a desire to grow are being encouraged to apply to be part of the inaugural Creative Industries Demo Day to be held at the Caboolture Hub in May.

Up to 10 finalists will be selected to participate, supporting the Moreton Bay Region’s ambition to become a top 10 innovation hub and in a bid to shine a spotlight on the region’s creative industry sector.

Mayor Peter Flannery says the inaugural event offers businesses an invaluable opportunity to pitch their businesses to an audience of industry professionals, future customers and potential investors.

“With the launch of the Creative Industries Demonstration Day, we’re calling for all businesses operating within the creative industries sector in Moreton Bay Region to submit an expression of interest,” Mayor Flannery says.

“Whether you write, code, tell stories, design, or something else entirely, this is your chance to step onto a stage and pitch your idea in front of a panel of industry professionals.”

Before stepping on stage to pitch to an audience and judges, finalists will take part in a pre-event workshop hosted by world-class trainer and workshop facilitator Jacqueline Nagle of Any Given Tuesday.

The pre-event workshop will help finalists fine-tune their skills and unlock elements of influence to provide them with skills in pitching, storytelling, speaking, positioning, business model analysis and strategy.

Expressions of interest are open until Friday, April 4. Finalists will be announced the following week and will be required to attend the pre-event workshop on Wednesday, April 20 from 9am-1pm.
