One minute is all it takes to pay tribute to those who lost their lives serving their country, and RSL Queensland is encouraging everyone across the City of Moreton Bay to take that time this Remembrance Day.
With November 11 falling on a Wednesday, many people will be at work or school when the nation pauses at 11am.
But RSL Queensland says there are simple ways to take part, whether it's observing a minute's silence, wearing a poppy or attending a local commemorative service.
RSL Queensland State Vice President Brigadier Arran Hassell CSC said the shared moment of reflection was an important way to honour those who served and sacrificed their lives.
"Whether you’re at work, at school, at home or gathered at a service, that shared minute of silence is a powerful act of remembrance.
"Given it’s a workday, we know that not everyone can attend a service, but we encourage everyone to take a moment to remember. As long as we remember, the legacy of our service people will not be forgotten."
More than 170 Remembrance Day services are expected to be held across Queensland, including commemorations throughout the City of Moreton Bay.
Originally marking the Armistice that ended the fighting of World War I in 1918, Remembrance Day now honours all who died serving in wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
