Police round-up: burglaries, arson
A 22-year-old Kelvin Grove man has been charged with entering a premises with intent to commit an indicatable offence, armed robbery and going armed as to cause fear after an incident at a Burpengary shop.
The 47-year-old employee who was in the shop at the time was not physically injured.
The man was found a short distance away by police and remanded in custody to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on November 24.
Arson charges
A 16-year-old Wynnum boy and a 13-year-old Caboolture boy have been charged with burglary, receiving tainted property, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and arson after a car fire at the Morayfield skate park on October 26.
Police were called to the park about 1.50pm and found the Mazda sedan on fire and that the car was taken from a Gordon Park house between 6pm on October 25 and 8am on October 26.
The boys were refused bail and will appear in the Caboolture Children’s Court at a later date.
Burglaries
Newport
An intruder fled from a Newport home empty-handed after waking the occupant at 12.30am on October 25.
They’d used a garage remote control stolen from a vehicle at the Newport Dve property to gain entry to the house.
The intruder, who wore a grey hoodie and covered their face, is described as being of small build and 155cm tall.
Narangba
A back door being kicked in and cupboard doors being slammed alerted a resident to a would-be burglar at their Narangba property on October 25.
The Raynbird Rd resident was woken about 4.30am and went to the kitchen to investigate, but the intruder had fled without taking anything.
Woody Point
Three sets of cars keys were stolen property in Bell St, Woody Point between 1.30 and 2am on October 26.
The occupant was woken by their dog barking.
They found the front door open and the keys missing, but the vehicles were not stolen.
Drink driving charges
A 52-year-old Kallangur man was charged with drink driving after he was intercepted on Dohles Rocks Rd, Kallangur at 11.35am on October 26.
He returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.11.
The man will appear at the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on November 11.
Meanwhile, a 40-year-old woman from Newport was charged with drink driving after an incident involving a parked car at 11.30pm on October 25 in Morna St at Newport.
She returned a positive breath test of 0.141 and will appear at the Redcliffe Magistrates Court on October 27.
