Posties & Punchlines, a feel-good comedy event

Comedian EJ Mann is bringing a massive night of comedy and raffles to North Lakes on June 28 to raise money for Variety – The Children’s Charity.

Posties & Punchlines will be held at Thirsty Chiefs Brewing Co, featuring some of Brisbane’s best comedians, a motorcycle show’n’shine, and prizes such as like Suncorp Stadium tickets, comedy show tickets and bar tab, wine, and goodies from businesses across Moreton Bay to be won.

The fundraiser is being held ahead of Mann’s attempt at the Postie Bike Dash; a six-day rural ride on an Aussie postie bike.

She says she has been getting her motorcycle, a former Australia Post Honda CT110, ready but says at just seven horsepower it is more like a glorified lawnmower.

She’s often seen riding the bike around town and up to Mt Mee to practice off-roading at D’Aguilar National Park.

“Everyone remembers the postie delivering mail in the suburbs, and it really is like owning a piece of Australian history… to be able to re-purpose these bikes to ride for a good cause is just amazing,” Mann says.

“I want to raise as much as I can, and the Moreton Bay community has been nothing short of amazing so far.

“I’ve handpicked some amazing comedians from all over South East Queensland and there are tonnes of prizes to be won from the likes of Crafted Taste Brewing Supplies, Revolution Sports Park, Good Chat Comedy Club, City Cave North Lakes, and Suncorp Stadium.”

The North Lakes resident and musician comedian has been taking the comedy scene by storm during the past three years.

Mann aims to raise $4000 for Variety, with all proceeds raised at Posties & Punchlines going to the charity to help children who are sick, disadvantaged, or have special needs.

A donations of just $50 can help fund an essential therapy session for a child with a rare disease, while $500 can provide a sick child with specialised wig.

Posties & Punchlines kicks off at 4pm with comedy from 6pm, Papagano Wood Fired Pizza onsite, and plenty of beer on tap.

Tickets are $15 and available from ejmann.com
