Powderfinger star to rock Redcliffe

Darren Middleton, one of Australia’s best known guitarists and songwriters, has been added to the line-up for next month’s Rockin 4 The Homeless.

The Powderfinger star will travel from Melbourne to perform a special solo set for the free community event at Dolphins in Redcliffe.

You Am I frontman and solo artist Tim Rogers has also signed up as an Ambassador of the long-running fundraiser on Sunday July 12.

All funds from the 14th edition of Rockin 4 The Homeless will go directly to The Breakfast Club, which is based on the corner of Portwood St and Oxley Ave.

It is being described as a “community fundraiser with cultural muscle, local credibility and a sharp sense of purpose”

Indeed, founder Dan Nebe said the 2026 edition represents a change in scale and profile.

“Rockin 4 The Homeless has always had heart, but this year it has serious force behind it,” he said.

“To have Tim Rogers involved as Ambassador and Darren Middleton joining the bill takes it into another lane entirely.

“These are artists with real legacy, real credibility and real connection to Australian audiences. That matters when the cause matters.”

With Dolphins’ NRL clash against the Sharks at Kayo Stadium 24 hours earlier, on July 11, Phins’ General Manager Justin Charlish is expecting a “massive weekend”.

Rockin 4 The Homeless 2026 is “100 per cent sponsored and 100 per cent volunteer-run” with every single cent raised going directly to The Breakfast Club.

It will support an organisation which has been serving Redcliffe since 2003 and provides more than 1000 meals a month for those doing it tough.

“People know when something is real. This event is real,” Dan said.

“It is built by volunteers, backed by sponsors, and trusted because every cent raised goes exactly where we say it goes.

“That is why the community backs it. That is why artists back it. That is why it keeps growing.”
