Rockin event to be postponed

The organisers of Rockin 4 the Homeless have been forced to postpone the event, due to be held on July 17, as Sydney’s COVID-19 cluster grows.

Director Dan Nebe says travel restrictions and the ongoing uncertainty have forced his hand.

“With 75 percent of our headline artists living in greater Sydney, our state borders have been closed to them and will be for some time. And, as with all of us, quarantine is simply not a viable option for people with highly committed schedules,” Mr Nebe says.

“Our admin team are working around the clock to get everything back on track for a revised date TBA. This does of course rest upon a myriad of factors, so please bear with us.

“The logistics for this event are insane and rebooting is a mission we wish on no-one. Having said that, we are up for the challenge and always will be.”

Headline acts for the show included the Hoodoo Gurus, The SuperJesus, and Def-FX. Def-FX frontwoman Fiona Horne has already confirmed she’s ‘in’ for the show, when it is rescheduled.

What to do with your tickets

Mr Nebe is suggesting supporters and rock fans hold onto their tickets, promising the rescheduled show will be bigger and better.

“You all know how we roll, bigger and better each time,” he says.

Ticket refunds are available at all outlets from point of purchase for those who want to get their money back.

Details on a new date will be announced as soon as the situation with the latest COVID-19 outbreak settles and it can be organised. Keep an eye on the website and Facebook page for updates.

“As I’m sure you can imagine, this is a charity gig that has taken 18 months to get to our second postponement. So, it’s a fair statement to say that as such a lot of people’s lives have been affected, from our volunteers, to our admin to of course - - our clients. And not to forget of course musicians – we had 10 bands lined up for this show,” Mr Nebe says.

“But onwards and upwards. The team is committed to working even harder for our third time lucky - to find the best date that suits all parties. We have the full support from our sponsors and artists to make this work.”
