Snakes' new $9m clubhouse

Detailed design for Caboolture Snakes’ new $9 million rugby league clubhouse is nearing completion – with work to start next year.

Plans are to redevelop Snakes’ ageing headquarters at Centenary Lakes off Morayfield Rd, in two stages.

Stage One will include the main operations building with fully-accessible changerooms, referee room, club offices, media booth, canteen and gym area.

Construction work will begin early next year and is expected to take 18 months, pending weather and any unforeseen circumstances.

Stage Two will see a function room and tiered seating which Cr Adam Hain (Div 3) says will run “from one end of the field to the other".

Cr Hain says in his newsletter the push for these upgrades began nine years ago when it was “recognised that the facility was getting to
 end of life”.

He believes the new clubhouse will be “amazing” and help grow participation in junior and senior rugby league.

“The new facilities will be a game-changer for the community, providing a better game day experience and a more inclusive environment with new changerooms ensuring our female teams are better catered for,” Cr Hain said.

Mayor Peter Flannery described the upgrade as a "major win for the community, including the 2000 local players who use the grounds".

"The new clubhouse will be an incredible asset for the community, with improved facilities to benefit players and spectators alike," he said. 

The project has been supported by the Federal Government’s Investing in Our Communities Program.

Snakes' new clubhouse will also be a short distance from the planned $11.4 million regional playground and water play space.
