Snap Fitness set to open in Morayfield

A new 24-hour gym is expected to open in Morayfield in early December, with pre-opening membership specials giving locals the chance to get involved from the beginning.

Snap Fitness Morayfield will open in a new shopping precinct on Oakey Flat Road, bringing fitness and recovery facilities to one of the area's growing residential neighbourhoods.

Co-owner Steve Lopez, who also owns Snap Fitness Plainland, said the expansion into Morayfield was driven by the area's residential growth and an opportunity to create a welcoming fitness community close to home.

“Everything we do is just about reducing those barriers and making it a more welcoming place, so that nobody is scared to walk in and start that journey,” Steve said.

With new housing estates including Montrose, Summerstone, Affinity and Sage surrounding the club, Steve hopes to build on the sense of community that has developed at Snap Fitness Plainland.

The existing club has attracted members ranging from teenagers to seniors, with social events, fitness challenges and community initiatives helping people connect beyond their workouts.

For Steve, that sense of belonging is just as important as the equipment, particularly for people who are new to an area or feel intimidated about joining a gym.

What members can expect

The new club will offer 24-hour access and a range of fitness and recovery facilities designed to cater for different fitness levels and goals, including:

  • Strength and cardio equipment: Technogym machines for building strength and improving cardiovascular fitness, alongside functional training equipment from Gold Coast manufacturer AlphaFit.

  • Reformer Pilates: Two beds with touchscreen-guided workouts, giving members a low-impact option for building strength, flexibility and mobility.

  • Private infrared sauna: A dedicated space where members can unwind after a workout, with bookings available through the Snap Fitness app.

  • Personalised fitness assessments: Technogym technology to assess factors such as strength, balance and stability, helping members and trainers better understand their starting point and track progress.

  • Training and recovery support: Personal training, selected instructor-led classes and a dedicated recovery area with guided stretching programs.

Reformer Pilates and infrared sauna access will be included in memberships, giving members more ways to incorporate movement and recovery into their routines.

Steve described the concept as “a premium facility in a neighborhood location”, with extended staffed hours planned from 7am to 7.30pm to complement the club's 24-hour access.

But beyond the equipment, he said the most rewarding part of operating a gym was seeing the difference regular exercise made to people's lives.

“It's just the people that get happier through doing a little bit more fitness all the time,” Steve said.

That philosophy will also shape the Morayfield club's approach to community engagement, with club manager Marnie Klippelt leading a local team and plans for member events, fitness challenges and partnerships with nearby businesses.

The owners hope these activities will help members build friendships and feel part of the neighbourhood, whether they are experienced gymgoers or starting their fitness journey.

With Snap Fitness Morayfield expected to open in early December, locals can already explore pre-opening membership specials, with offers changing as the launch approaches.

“The earlier people get on board, the more they can save,” Steve said.
