Strong start to Eels new season
North Lakes Eels launched their new junior AFL season with “strong numbers” at the club’s sign-on day.
New players and families were again a notable feature of Saturday’s registrations at St Benedict’s College in Mango Hill.
A number of activities were held and a representative from AFL Queensland took a special session for young players.
Following the sign-on, vice-president Brad Smith said Eels will field teams in each junior age group this year – and some will have multiple teams.\
Registrations are also being taken for the Pink Eels girls’ team and Under 13 boys’ team.
Eels' Auskick program – which had more than 120 players last year - starts on February 24 with the first week free.
Registrations are preferred for Auskick and Eels’ come-and-try sessions to help cater for numbers.
Details are available on the club’s website and Facebook page.
