Good time to tee-up for hospital fundraiser

Golfers are being urged to sign-up and support Caboolture Hospital through this month’s Shine Lawyers Charity Golf Day.

Registrations are open for business and organisations, with players of all abilities, to tee-up on Friday October 28 at Pacific Harbour Golf and Country Club on Bribie Island.

All proceeds raised go to The Common Good - a charity aligned with Caboolture Hospital – and the hospital’s first Giving Day in November.

Shine Lawyers has a national foot print, but the golf fundraiser is being driven by its Caboolture office.

“I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Friday than golfing for a good cause that has an immediate and positive impact on our community,” Craig Oliver, of Shine Lawyers Caboolture, said.

“Shine Lawyers is proud to support a charity that strives to improve the health and wellbeing of the community, which relies on the Caboolture hospital.

“The research projects, hospital initiatives and equipment they help to fund are vital and can make a huge difference to the lives of patients who are admitted to the hospital.

“We hope the funds raised from our day at Pacific Harbour will help the delivery of vital services and equipment, particularly for older adults who require treatment at the hospital."

Shine Lawyers Caboolture will also be part of the hospital’s first Giving Day on November 30 and hopes to double the funds raised at the golf day.

The Common Good, which will run the Giving Day, supports projects, innovation and research providing an extra care, support and comfort for those relying on Caboolture Hospital.

Giving Day 2022 will focus on improving care for the elderly, including reducing delirium instances, providing enhanced care for those with dementia, maintaining mobility in a hospital environment and reducing social isolation.

“It’s wonderful to experience the support of Shine Lawyers who are demonstrating a commitment to improve health outcomes in their local community,” Mick Dwane, GM-Supporting Caboolture Hospital and Brighton Health Campus, said.
