Tenor Mark Vincent to debut in Redcliffe

One of Australia’s most loved tenors will be delighting audiences with his songs when he appears at the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre for the first time this month.

Mark Vincent, who shot to fame after being crowned the winner of Australia’s Got Talent in 2009, will be performing his new show The Impossible Dream at 8pm on Saturday, March 26.

Speaking to Moreton Daily, Mark said he was excited to bring his musical stylings to the region.

“This will be my very first time appearing at the Redcliffe Entertainment Centre, which I am really excited about,” he said.

“I actually drove past the entertainment centre recently when I was visiting family, who told me that’s where I will be performing.

“It looks like a really beautiful venue.”

Fans can expect an intimate performance with Mark, who will be performing a repertoire of songs from his collection, including ARIAS made popular by artists including Italian American tenor and actor Mario Lanza.

“I always love to say my show has a variety of forms, from musical theatre to classic songs that people know, love and cherish,” he said.

“This show has a new and special meaning for me – having gone through the last two years with COVID-19 and becoming a father for the first time, it puts a new perspective on things for me, and the audience will get a chance to see that.

“They will hear stories from my journey and the obstacles I have overcome, as well as the many exciting things that are coming up for me, which I can’t wait to share.

“I love performing for people who really appreciate the arts. I have found Australian audiences always return their loyalty which I really appreciate”.

Before he fronts the crowd,  Mark's backstage ritual includes saying a little prayer.

“The first thing I do before any show is to do my vocal warm up, and then I will sit in my dressing room for about 10 minutes to reflect on the upcoming show,” he said.

“I always say a little prayer to God and that has always gotten me through.

“I used to be really nervous before going out on stage, because I was always nervous of what the audience would think.

“But now, if I’m having a great time on stage, then the audiences are having a great time in their seats.”

An illustrious career

Following on from his appearance on Australia’s Got Talent, Mark signed a record deal with Sony Music Australia and has appeared on stages across the globe.

He has recorded and released nine albums, with eight of those albums reaching number 1 on the ARIA Classical Crossover Charts.

Several releases also enjoyed success stop the ARIA national charts.

In 2014 Mark made his musical theatre debut in the Australian production of Dirty Dancing, before appearing in Dame Julie Andrew’s national production of My Fair Lady in 2016.
