Vinnies collection at Moreton Bay college

St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland is bringing its popular formal event to Caboolture for the first time with every item under $50.

The St Vincent de Formal will turn St Columban’s College Chapel, in McKean St, into a one- stop formalwear shop on Saturday March 7, 9am-4pm.One thousand new and pre-loved gowns and 500 suits will be on display, plus formal shoes, evening bags, jewellery, ties, waistcoats and hats.

The collection, made from donations across the region including formalwear boutique Belle Le Chic and online dress rental store TheOnlyDress, will provide styling for school formals, weddings, charity balls and other occasions.

Each purchase will also support St Vincent de Paul Society’s vital community programs. Following the success of St Vincent de Formals in Maroochydore and Maryborough in 2025, the Caboolture event came as a direct response to local demand.

“St Vincent de Formal is making sure every young person gets to walk into their formal feeling extraordinary and make a sustainable choice they’re proud of,” St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland’s Schools Engagement Officer Kate Everlyn said.

“At past events, people have been blown away by the incredible range of styles, sizes and options, describing the event as ‘a dream’.

“What started as a simple idea has grown into one of the most uplifting community events that our staff and volunteers are proud and excited to host each year.”

Caboolture is set to be the first of three St Vincent de Formal’s in 2026, with events scheduled in Hervey Bay in April and the Sunshine Coast in May.

St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland is devoted to the alleviation of poverty and homelessness and works to support those experiencing disadvantage.
