He’s renowned for his passion for Redcliffe history and his talent for preserving it, now Duane Hart has created a vintage tea lounge for locals and visitors to drink it in.

Duane has been running his Peninsula Framing business for about 12 years and been producing pictorial history books for the past seven years.

His shop in Comino’s Arcade, Redcliffe, has been a favourite among local history buffs and visitors for many years and has now moved to a bigger location in the same arcade.

The new shop, he co-owns with partner Casey Thompson, was officially opened on Friday night (May 26).

Having more space has enabled Duane to create a welcoming space for customers to enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and a tasty treat while they look at his collection of memorabilia, maps, photographs, postcards and more.

“Customers know me. They like to come in and have a look and talk about the old times, reminisce,” Duane says.

He is planning to host movie nights every Friday from 7pm, embracing a theme each month.

He will kick it off with four weeks of Charlie Chaplin films in June, but also keen to play Marilyn Monroe and Steve McQueen films in the months ahead.

Keep an eye on his facebook page for details or follow the blog.

The vintage tea house offers 18 varieties of tea, Di Bella coffee and tasty treats to eat. Peninsula Framing still provides framing and restoration services including Super 8 and VHS.

It is open 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday and 9am-2pm on weekends.
