Work to start on $30m project
Construction is set to start next week on a major infrastructure project in one of Moreton Bay’s new growth areas.
Developer Goldfields says work on the Elimbah Water and Sewerage Infrastructure Project is scheduled to begin on March 13.
The project will service the future residential and urban development area bound by Pumicestone Rd, Clinker Rd and the Bruce Highway. It will include:
- a gravity sewer, running south from the intersection of Pumicestone and McGarry Rds, down McGarry Rd to the intersection with Old Toorbul Point Rd
- a pump station near the intersection of McGarry Rd and Old Toorbul Point Rd
- a rising main sewer running west from the new pump station along Old Toorbul Point Rd, under the Bruce Highway, along Flowers Rd and south down Pumicestone Rd to the intersection with Reserve Drive
- a barometric loop at the intersection of Pumicestone Rd and Reserve Drive
- a new water main under Pumicestone Rd between Clinker Rd and Bigmor Drive, including a crossing underneath the Bruce Highway
- an upgraded water main at Rudken Pde, between Sunita Drive and Fairmount St.
"This will deliver essential water and wastewater infrastructure to support future growth and development in Elimbah," Goldfields Development Director Daniel Flanagan said.
The project includes new wastewater infrastructure, new and upgraded water mains, and construction of a new wastewater pump station and barometric loop.
Winslow Group is the principal contractor for works which will be completed in stages over approximately 12 months.
"We'll be providing regular updates through our project website, distributing works notifications before each stage of construction," Mr Flanagan said.
