A new space-themed children’s play centre, called Area 51, will open at Redcliffe today from 11am-9pm.

It is at 82-98 Anzac Ave and features a large soft play area – Gizmo’s Odyssey, a Super Climber, a dedicated toddler zone – Astro Explorer, a Café and thrilling slides.

Area 51 Redcliffe is exclusively for children aged 12 years and under.

When speaking to Moreton Daily previously, Area 51 Operations Manager Michael Affleck said it will “offer the community a great hub to get together, have a coffee and let the kids have fun”.

“One of the biggest points for us is to provide more families with indoor play centres which children can be energetic, engaged and have an opportunity to meet like-minded people.”

The 1000sqm Redcliffe site will differ from Area 51’s Underwood venue, as it is smaller than the 8000sqm Kingston Rd centre.

Area 51 won a Best of Queensland Experience Award 2024 and is also building a new indoor entertainment centre at Bundamba in Ipswich.

Bookings are being taken via the centre’s website.
