Artists’ work reflects delights of region

Four award-winning Redcliffe artists have collaborated to put together an exhibition of their recent works.

Showing just how individual an approach to art can be, each artist’s painterly language brings excitement to the collection of work, which is reflection of Redcliffe visual voices.

Heather Delaney's watercolours and inks of the natural environment demonstrate the strong influence of her country upbringing, while Donna Hawkins’ unique and vibrant mix of colour recreates music in a visual way.

Tricia Reust’s love of texture and Australian fauna are captured in her contribution to Redcliffe Reflections and Lin Stanton’s lifelong fascination with nature, colour and design are evident in her abstract compositions.

Official opening

All four artists are members of the Redcliffe Art Society.

Former Society president Catherine McLeod will officially open the exhibition on April 24, with Donna and Tricia giving free demonstrations.

There will be an original artwork as the door prize – and you must be there to win.

The exhibition runs from April 14-May 9 at the Old Fire Station Gallery, 395 Oxley Ave, Redcliffe.

The gallery is open Wednesday-Sunday, 10am-3pm.
