Ausbuild and Warriors in winning deal for community

Developer and home builder Ausbuild has inked a sponsorship deal with the New Zealand Warriors for the 2022 NRL season, while the team calls the Moreton Bay Region its ‘home away from home’. The deal includes initiatives to engage and support the community.

Ausbuild Joint Managing Director Matthew Bell says the partnership will deliver a range of community focused initiatives including school programs, local events, and fundraising for charities in the Moreton Bay Region.

“In the short amount time the Warriors have called Redcliffe home, they’ve become part of the Moreton Bay community and we’ve been impressed by their values and their engagement with young fans of the sport,” Mr Bell says.

“In this spirit, we are partnering with the club during their 2022 season to deliver a range of community focused initiatives that engage with school students across the Moreton Bay Region and raise funds for local charity groups.”

Mr Bell says the Warriors’ relocation to Redcliffe has brought A-Grade NRL to the Moreton Bay Region and with it, a sense of optimism, excitement, and celebration of the sport.

The Warriors will play six home games at Moreton Daily Stadium in Redcliffe in 2022, with the first kicking off this Saturday against the Brisbane Broncos at 2pm.

Students’ role at Warriors’ game

To celebrate the partnership, 200 students from Bray Park State High School will attend this weekend’s game, with 12 forming a guard of honour when the Warriors step on to the field. Six students will participate in the half-time entertainment.

Fans attending the Warriors home games will have the opportunity to go in the running to win a $650,000 Ausbuild home and land package.

Since the beginning of the 2020 NRL season, government-imposed restrictions have forced the New Zealand Warriors to relocate their team operations to Australia.

New Zealand Warriors Chief Executive Cameron George says the club has been humbled by the support of communities and businesses across South-East Queensland.

“We’ve been welcomed to the community with open arms, and this has been incredibly important for the team, who have played the last two seasons away from family and loved ones,” Mr George says.

“The club has a large fan base in South-East Queensland and their support has been fantastic. When the players hit the field on Saturday, they’re not just playing for New Zealand – they’re playing for Moreton Bay too.

“We’re looking forward to our partnership with Ausbuild and engaging with our community on and off the field in 2022.”

Ausbuild is one of Queensland’s largest privately-owned developers, with a 34-year history of delivering master-planned communities across the South-East corner of the state.

The company is currently delivering two master-planned communities in the Moreton Bay region, at Warner and Morayfield.
