Autumn closure for Target Kippa-Ring

Target at Kippa-Ring Shopping Centre on Anzac Ave, will close in April, according to a company spokesperson.

It is one of up to 75 Target and Target Country stores across the country which will close or be converted to Kmart shops in coming months.

Target says on its website that the decision is to “improve the commercial viability” and adapt to the current retail environment.

Thank you

“We want to thank our Kippa-Ring team, the local community and all of our customers for shopping with us over the years and hope they will consider visiting us online,” says a Target spokesperson.

“Our focus is on supporting our team through this time as we work through finding suitable redeployment within other Wesfarmers businesses as well as with other employers in town.

“Any permanent team members who we are unable to secure suitable redeployment will have access to all their entitlements.”

Rebranding

In South East Queensland, the Beerwah, Noosa Junction and Forest Lake stores will be rebranded. Beaudesert is the only other Target in the region to close.

On its website Target says: “The network will continue to be reviewed on an ongoing basis to support our transition to a smaller, more focused and more optimised business.

“Importantly, our online business will still be available 24 hours a day. We’ll be increasing our digital capabilities, so that we can continue to meet growing demand in this space.”
