Redcliffe lands back-to-back titles

Redcliffe Golf Club has become the first to win back-to-back PGA Tournament of the Year titles in the annual Queensland Golf Industry Awards.

The most lucrative event on the adidas PGA Pro-Am Series, Redcliffe’s Optilease Pro-Am, took the award at a gala night on the Gold Coast.

No other club has claimed successive victories in this category since the awards started in 2009.

'Super proud'

“We, as a team, are super proud to once again accept this award for our 2022 Optilease Redcliffe Pro-Am for Tournament of the Year,” Director of Golf Chris Adnams said.

“We raised the bar again this year to deliver a $65,000 purse, but it was the event planning and execution that really made this event shine.

“To go back-to-back for this top award is an amazing achievement by the entire team here at Redcliffe GC.”

Two more years

“We had two players shoot rounds of 64 on the first day (Thursday) which was windy," he said.

“On Friday it was picture perfect conditions and the party hole was great fun.”

The future of the pro-am is secured for 2023 and 2024 with Optilease signing a three-year sponsorship with Redcliffe Golf Club.
