Moreton Daily Stadium will host two must-win games of rugby league this Saturday, September 17, and the victors will secure themselves a spot in the QRL’s Hostplus Cup and Hastings Deering Colts Grand Finals on September 24.
The Sunshine Coast Falcons and Burleigh Bears have responded after finals week one losses to secure their spots in this weekend’s preliminary finals.
The Falcons came from 24 points down to snatch a remarkable golden point win against Tweed Seagulls (26-24), while the Bears hit back with a strong 32-16 win over the Central Queensland Capras.
The Redcliffe Dolphins had the weekend off, after advancing straight to the preliminary final following their 22-16 win over the Sunshine Coast Falcons in finals week one.
It means the top four teams are still alive heading into the preliminary final weekend, with the Redcliffe Dolphins to play the Burleigh Bears at Moreton Daily Stadium, Redcliffe, and Norths Devils to host the Falcons at Bishop Park.
Both matches will be played on Saturday, September 17.
The Hastings Deering Colts preliminary finals will also be held on Saturday. The Central Queensland Capras will travel to Redcliffe to play the Dolphins and Townsville Blackhawks are locked in to play last year’s Grand Final nemesis Wynnum Manly Seagulls at Bishop Park.
