Baking their pastries fresh in-house each day or stocking their display cabinets full of sweet treats, these artisan bakeries and cafes are our favourites when it comes to fulfilling our sweet tooth desires.

Hinterland

Taking a day trip from Brisbane to escape the hubbub of city life explore the natural contours of the Moreton Bay Region hinterland? Well, if you happen to get a bit peckish, we know some of the best cafes near Brisbane to stop and refuel with a baked treat.

Samford

Little Tree Bake & Brew House

Little Tree Bake & Brewhouse specialise in artisan baked sourdough breads, croissants, brioches, gourmet pies (beef & shiraz, Moroccan lamb, chicken & thyme, sweet potato & chickpea), sausage rolls and pastries all baked fresh in their artisan bakery each day. Our favourites include the chocolate caramel tart and raspberry cheesecake which are both vegan!

100% certified organic and focussed on providing a health and nutritious menu since day one, Canter & Colt is the place to be if you enjoy keeping your mind and body healthy. Using Fair Trade Organic since their inception, Canter & Colt support local when creating delicious baked sweet treats such as donuts, slices and muffins. The newest member of their raw cake team is a Nutella-inspired hazelnut treat that is gluten-free, vegan and uses refined sugar!

Offering a lovingly curated collection of pantry provisions and great coffee, The Old Storehouse is sure to help you refuel on your day trip from Brisbane. In a small building, you can dine alfresco on the deck or down among the gardens under the shade of table umbrellas. We hear their slices are to die for (particularly the Vanilla and Lemon slices!)

Where the sea meets the shoreline, there’s an abundance of boutique cafes baking away to provide sweet treats to all visitors, local and tourists alike. Stop in for an energising coffee or a quick pick-me-up treat to spoil yourself.

Flock Eatery

Using locally sourced produce from the Moreton Bay Region, Flock Eatery is a boutique café near Brisbane serving up a fresh and seasonal menu of delicious flavours and even sweeter baked treats. Even their display cabinet items like chocolate Jaffa balls and raw chocolate coconut slice are baked fresh every day. They’re also vegan, packed with protein, real ingredients and nutrients. It almost doesn’t feel like a treat.

Red velvet muffins with whipped cream and fresh strawberries. Blueberry white chocolate scone. Date and ginger loaf. Wash it all down with a loaded shake and you’ve got Annie Lane. Delish! Baked fresh in-store every day, you never know what’s going to be in the display cabinet at this boutique Bribie Island café.
