Big plans for prime Redcliffe block
Words by Nick Crockford

Plans have been submitted for a new nine-storey development in the heart of Redcliffe, just metres from the beach front.

Lumiere, proposed for land on the corner of Sutton and Creek Streets, would have 14 three-bedroom apartments - all with sea views.

There would also be two food and drink outlets - likely to be a café and restaurant according to the application by Velcon Enterprises.

On the ground and first floors there would be a total of 32 parking spaces – 21 residential, seven visitor, four commercial, as well as three for motorcycles.

Some public seating would be included on the corner of the 1529sq m site, which is currently used for private car parking.

A development application, lodged by Velcon Enterprises for 167 Sutton St, was made to Moreton Bay Regional Council late last year.

Stefan Vellar, Managing Director of Velcon, said each apartment would have north-facing ocean views and “generous balconies”.

The apartments have “full height windows and continual double glazing across the front and side of the living area”.

Lumiere would “cultivate a community atmosphere” with its gym, sauna, yoga studio and communal areas”, Mr Vellar said.

“Our developments contribute to the local economy by creating jobs and we’re meticulous in selecting local consultants and contractors that bring valuable knowledge”.
