Buddy's new brewery and bar plans

Plans have been submitted to Moreton Bay City Council for a micro-brewery and bar close to Burpengary’s main shopping centre.

The development application has been lodged by Buddy Brewing to convert Unit 12 at 178 Station Rd, Burpengary.

The unit is opposite the Tower Shopping Centre and close to the Station/Progress/Morayfield Road roundabout, with public transport nearby.

While brewing would continue round the clock, Buddy Brewing’s application says the bar would open from 10am to midnight Thursday and Friday.

The side of the unit Buddy Brewing wishes to convert at Burpengary.

The DA, available on Council’s DA Tracker website, says the proposed development will be “non-competing use” that will “increase the economic growth of the area”.

“As the bar will operate primarily when other businesses within the lot are closed peak traffic will not be adversely affected and provide sufficient car parking to the proposed use,” says the DA.

“The existing car parking arrangement does not have exclusive use spaces and works on a ‘first in, best-dress’ arrangement.”
