At Sesame Lane Care & Kindergarten, the safety, security, and sense of belonging for every child are at the heart of our mission.

Our dedication to children and families extends beyond simply fulfilling promises; it is a commitment we live out every day.

To further elevate our support, we have introduced additional team members who are devoted to going above and beyond in their roles. These professionals enhance our ability to assist staff, children, and families, ensuring that everyone’s needs are met with compassion and a spirit to innovate and expand our support.

Introducing new roles to our Development and Community Support Team

Alongside our dedicated Management Operations Team, Sesame Lane is proud to announce the expansion of our Development and Community Support Team with the addition of two new co-ordinators.

Unique within the Early Learning Sector, this team is committed to creating a safe, secure, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. These new roles demonstrate our unwavering dedication to meeting the individual needs of each child while nurturing meaningful connections within the wider community. By continuing to grow and strengthen our support network, we aim to provide families with the care and resources they deserve.

Here’s how our team members are making a difference to the lives of children, families, and the Moreton Bay community:

Educational Mentor & Children's Rights Ambassador - Amanda (Mandy) Alborn

Mandy guides our team in delivering high-quality educational programs across all services at Sesame Lane. Her role supports our educators through mentoring, innovative training, and advocating for children's rights.

Through her work, Mandy raises awareness on important issues affecting children, ensuring their voices are heard. She collaborates with families and communities, aligning with initiatives such as Children's Rights Queensland to promote greater engagement and understanding around a child’s fundamental rights.

Her work ensures your child receives exceptional care and education, built on respect, inclusion, and advocacy.

Indigenous Cultural Liaison - Rebecca (Bek) Martin

Bek is a proud Yuggerah woman and an integral part of Sesame Lane’s Community Support Team. Her role as Indigenous Cultural Liaison helps ensure that our services are culturally safe spaces for children, families, and educators alike.

Bek fosters connections between our services and local Elders, creating authentic relationships and collaborative opportunities that celebrate and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

By offering ongoing cultural education and programs, Bek helps children develop a strong sense of identity while supporting educators to build cultural understanding and responsiveness. Her work extends into the Moreton Bay region, where she collaborates with government-led research, community groups, and the Early Learning sector.

"Our children are the future," Bek says, "and supporting them to be strong in their identity is an honour I carry with pride."

Community Connections Co-ordinator - Kerrie (Keza) Ward

At Sesame Lane, we believe it takes a village to raise a child, and Keza brings that philosophy to life. Her role focuses on connecting families with the wider community, from local schools and sports clubs to external programs that enrich children’s lives.

One program Keza is passionate about is Sesame Lane’s Connection Club, where Seniors and aged care residents visit children under 5 to foster meaningful, intergenerational relationships. This initiative promotes social understanding while bringing a smile to everyone involved.

Keza also co-ordinates events such as fundraisers and volunteer programs, supporting Clean Up Australia Day and The Breakfast Club Redcliffe meal service. Additionally, she builds seamless transitions for kindergarten children starting school by connecting Kindergarten and Prep teachers for collaborative support.

Keza’s mission is clear—connect families, children and the community with the resources they need to grow and thrive.

Inclusion Support Co-ordinator & Circle of Security Facilitator - Kelly Anderson

Kelly’s role as Inclusion Support Co-ordinator is vital in ensuring that all children experience equal opportunities and support during their time at Sesame Lane.

Kelly works directly with educators to develop flexible approaches that incorporate inclusive practices into Sesame Lane classrooms. From creating customised support plans for children to facilitating families’ access to additional resources, Kelly ensures that every child’s unique needs are met with compassion and care.

By encouraging educators to reflect on their methods and access tools like the Inclusion Development Fund (IDF), Kelly ensures that we’re always improving inclusion practices across our services. "Every child deserves to feel seen, included, and supported," Kelly emphasises, and her work brings that vision to life.

A Shared Commitment to Families

At Sesame Lane, our Community Support Team does more than ensure smooth daily operations—they embody our values of community, inclusivity, and advocacy. Together, Mandy, Bek, Keza, and Kelly represent a commitment to creating enriched, supportive environments where your child’s safety and development flourish.

Because with Sesame Lane, it’s not just childcare—it’s a community dedicated to empowering every child and family we serve.
