A new childcare centre is being planned beside Moreton Bay land already earmarked for a new state school.
Proposals have been lodged with Moreton Bay City Council for a new childcare centre at 115-125 Robbs Rd, Morayfield.
The triangular two-hectare site is beside a larger cleared and fenced block on the corner of Robbs Rd and Hauton Rd.
State Member for Morayfield Mark Ryan posted a video on social media last October saying the land had been bought for a new state school.
The planned childcare centre would accommodate around 124 children and 18 staff in a single-story building with a 1000sqm outdoor play area.
It would operate 6am-7pm Monday to Friday, according to the development application (DA) and have 43 car parking spaces.
The expanding Morayfield South area will eventually have around 26,000 residents in about 10,000 new homes
Three new state primary schools are proposed for the area, including on the land beside this proposed childcare centre.
Robbs Rd is also seen as a key transport corridor.
