Clontarf stars in new Domino’s ad

If you thought the location of Domino’s latest television commercial looked familiar, you were right. The company picked a scenic spot pretty close to home to film it.

The ad was filmed in Clontarf on August 12 and is airing now. It’s the one with the fish in the car, taking advantage of a new carpark delivery service.

They pull up outside the Clontarf store and are seen driving towards the foreshore along Duffield Rd.

So, why Clontarf?

We asked a Domino’s spokeswoman that very question.

“Domino’s is proud to be headquartered in Brisbane, Queensland, so we love seizing the ‘oppor-tuna-ty’ to work with local talent and businesses where we can,” she says.

“Not only is Domino’s Clontarf located close to our headquarters in the beautiful Moreton Bay Region, but the store is also located in close proximity to the ocean via Duffield Road, which ties in perfectly with the theme of our TVC.

“The location is even more special for local pizza lovers, when you consider Domino’s Group CEO and Managing Director Don Meij attended school just down the road at Clontarf Beach High School.”

Were local staff involved?

“Domino’s partnered with a local Brisbane company and local talent for the production of this TVC. Local team members from Domino’s Clontarf were also on hand to provide piping hot pizzas on the day,” the spokeswoman says.

“At Domino’s, we love showcasing our locally owned and operated stores like Clontarf. While Domino’s is a national brand, our network of stores is made up of lots of local and passionate franchisees.”

How has the ad been received?

“It’s early days, but we’ve already received a ‘fintastic’ response to the new advertisement. During what has been a challenging year for so many people, Aussies appreciate the TVC’s humour and light-heartedness,” she says.

And it seems pizza lovers are enjoying the convenience of the new carpark delivery service.

“Whether you’ve got kids in the car or it’s quite literally raining on your parade, Domino’s Car Park Delivery is the ultimate pick-up convenience,” the spokeswoman says.
