Council seeks community views on arts and recreation

Outdoor spaces, sports, arts and culture are the focus of the latest Moreton Says survey.

It’s the latest in a three-year series of surveys being conducted by Moreton Bay Regional Council to learn about community sentiment on a range of topics.

The Moreton Says surveys aim to bring the community’s view into Council’s planning and decision-making.

About 3200 people responded to a recent survey about neighbourhood identity and higher density housing.

Among the findings of previous surveys is that access to green space, public facilities and recreational activities play an important role in people’s lives.

Focus on fun

The latest survey hones in on those services and facilities, with a particular focus on outdoor spaces, sports, arts and culture.

The survey seeks to understand how people currently use the spaces and programs, and find why people may not be using them.

Included in the survey are questions about sporting events, parks facilities, local art exhibitions, library services, gigs and pop-up events.

The survey closes at 5pm on Monday, October 31.
