COVID-19 update: Two new local cases in home quarantine

Three new COVID-19 cases were detected in Queensland overnight - one a person in hotel quarantine who had returned from overseas and two community-contracted cases who were in home isolation.

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk says it's good news for the state because there are no new exposure sites.

"They are linked to the Carindale daughter," Ms Palaszczuk says.

"This is absolutely fantastic news."

Chief Health Officer Jeannette Young says the new local cases, linked to the Alpha cluster, have been in home quarantine since July 2.

"There's no public exposure sites, there's no risk there at all," Dr Young says.

Yesterday more than 14,000 people were tested for COVI-19, and 15,631 people vaccinated.

Health Minister and Member for Redcliffe Yvette D'Ath says more than 5700 people are isolating in home quarantine.

"Thank you for helping keep Queensland safe by complying with quarantine directions," Mrs D'Ath says.

Check-in app mandatory

Ms Palaszczuk says use of the check-in Queensland app is compulsory from tomorrow.

"It just makes the job for our contact tracers so much easier."

Mrs D'Ath says use of the app will be mandatory from 1am.

She says more than 72,000 businesses have registered to use the app in the past two weeks and urges those who have not yet registered to do so immediately.

"We will have compliance officers checking," she warns.

Casual contacts

If you have been to any of the below locations at the relevant times you must do the following:

1. immediately travel by private transport directly to your home or accommodation and quarantine
2. get tested at your earliest opportunity
3. continue to quarantine until you receive a negative result
4. enter your details into the contact tracing form by clicking or tapping on the name for the relevant location in the table below. You will not be contacted by Queensland Health unless additional information about the exposure changes the risk level
5. continue to monitor for symptoms, if you become symptomatic get tested and isolate until you receive a negative result.

If you are no longer in Queensland please check with the relevant state health department for health advice and requirements.

Low risk contacts

If you have been to any of the below locations at the relevant times you must do the following:

1. get tested but you do not need to isolate unless you have symptoms
2. if you are experiencing symptoms, quarantine at home until you receive a negative result
3. continue to monitor for symptoms, if you become symptomatic get tested and isolate until you receive a negative result.
