Craft Beer, Great Coffee...Bottoms Up at Lawnton

Crow n Arrow

In its first year at Lawnton a craft beer bar, described by its owner as “having an atmosphere more like a coffee shop that’s licensed,’’ has developed quite a following.

Crow n Arrow's general manager Graham Scott says his concept for the bar was to provide somewhere for over 35s seeking a quiet drink, but he's been taken by surprise at the mix of his customers.

It seems 20-somethings are also looking for a laid-back bar to meet their mates.

The bar has one of the largest ranges of craft beers on the northside, with more than 50 brews from small breweries, with a focus on South East Queensland brewers.

The six beers available on tap change every week so there’s always something new to try. The bar also offers a full spirit range, cocktails and a wine list.

Alternating food trucks arrive on Friday and Saturday nights and Sundays from 3pm.

Wheelhouse Coffee

It's hard to beat good avocado on toast and that’s why it’s a firm customer favourite at Lawnton’s Wheelhouse Coffee cafe.

Manager Lauren Scott says she would not dare remove from her menu the popular staple. The family-run cafe that has served its loyal base in Lawnton for five years is proud to supply only homemade cakes or those from local bakers.

The rustic all-wood interior is a welcome respite for locals when they call in for their coffee supplied by Queensland-based Wolff.

When Lauren’s customers feel the need for something a little stronger, there’s always her dad’s craft beer bar next door.
