Dining gems at Bribie, Sandstone Point

Believe it or not, diners have been the biggest winners from COVID-19 shutdown with innovative menus emerging and more flexible options for a night in or out. Here’s a couple of gems from Bribie Island/Sandstone Point.

Bribie RSL

Bribie RSL’s two dining venues – Botanic and Social – are relishing being open in the wake of COVID-19 restrictions.

Marketing manager Cloe Einam says the Botanic crew has released a new menu with new classics, including a pizza range complementing old favourites.

The venue also turns the spotlight on ever-popular craft beers.

“Whether you're a craft been connoisseur or new to the lifestyle, Botanic Bar now has a display dedicated to the craft beer can,” Cloe says.

The fridge is currently featuring brews from Feral Brewing, Green Beacon, Mountain Goat and Stone & Wood, plus many more iconic names.”

Social Café’s delicious brunch, lunch and dinner menus offer something for everyone, including four-legged guests, and a new misting system on the Social terrace cools the area on even the hottest of days.

“Social’s cake cabinet is constantly popping up with new and deliciously mouth-watering treats, perfect for morning tea or a sneaky dessert after lunch,” Cloe says.

“Social’s pop-up blackboard menu changes daily, driven by the innovative minds behind the Social kitchen.”

Seasars Seafood Café and Bistro

The new offering by the owners of Dock n Dine and Ignite by Dockside combines the best of both at Seasars Seafood Café and Bistro.

Still at the marina at Sandstone Point, Seasars now occupies the upper level with stunning waterfront views.

Joe and Rachael Nocera have kept the focus firmly on fresh produce, with most of the restaurant’s seafood sourced from local trawlers.

The menu spans breakfast, lunch and dinner and Rachael says that while their wood-fired pizza oven had been left behind, their signature pastas and risottos remain on the menu.

“We’re doing traditional breakfasts with an Italian flair – we have our own take on an eggs bene, with bolognese,” she says.

Open Wednesday to Sunday, Seasars offers specials each day – including High Cheese on Thursdays.

“Instead of High Teas, we’re doing High Cheese, with things like baked camembert with raspberries,” Rachael says.
