Easy way to have your say about Moreton Bay Region projects

It will be easier for residents to have their say about council projects with the launch of a new portal to keep them up to date.

Mayor Peter Flannery says using the new Your Say Moreton Bay website is as easy as entering your postcode, and the search engine will identify projects open for consultation nearby.

“We hope this new innovative, interactive, and intuitive platform attracts greater public participation in decisions that impact the community,” Mayor Flannery says.

Consultation comes to you

“In the past, people had to go online to see what consultation was open; now the consultation comes to you, tailored to the topics and areas you’re interested in.”

Mayor Flannery says Your Say Moreton Bay won’t replace face-to-face information sessions.

“In fact we’ve recruited a new community engagement team to ensure Council is out and active in your community to hear your feedback on the work we’re doing,” he says.

“This new way of working and gathering information will enrich our decision-making processes through survey data, polls, forum discussions and opportunities to share stories, pictures and ideas.

Guided by the community

“(We) want to ensure that, even when making the tough decisions, we are at all times guided by the values and expectations of our community.”

Mayor Flannery says the portal will allow residents to help shape future community precincts, parks and recreation facilities, main road upgrades, conservation projects and developments.

Consultations open for community feedback include the Albany Creek, Morayfield and Deception Bay skate park concept designs, streetscape improvements and road rehabilitation works concept plan at Elliott St, Caboolture, the Hills District Community Place and the Coastal Hazard Adaptions Strategy.
