First look - Strathpine bus station upgrade

The detailed design for Strathpine Shopping Centre’s new-look $2.76 million bus station has been revealed.

State Member for Pine Rivers Nikki Boyd said the upgrade would make the bus stop much easier to use.

“We know how important Strathpine Shopping Centre bus station is for the community, which is why it’s so good to see the design released,” Ms Boyd said.

“This project comes as part of the Queensland Government’s nearly $3.9 billion, four-year transport and road plan for Brisbane alone, supporting 3280 jobs.”

Ms Boyd said the bus stop would be highly accessible and include comfortable seating and sheltered waiting areas.

“The design includes four bus stopping bays and provisions to make it easier for buses to get onto Gympie Road,” she said.

“Pedestrian connections to the shopping centre will also be improved.”

Transport and Main Roads has worked closely with Strathpine Shopping Centre, bus operators and other stakeholders to complete the design.

Community updates will be provided prior to construction starting.
