Footpath Sale back at the Y

The Festival Footpath Sale is back at the YMCA Op Shop Mango Hill on Saturday.

Now in its third year, there will be bargains for shoppers, live music and food outside the shop at the Y on Halpine Drive.

Music will be provided by Pepper Jane from 10am-1pm and include the song YMCA by Village People.

Shoppers who sing, dance, say “I have Fun at the YMCA” or do the song’s Y M C A dance to op shop staff will get half price clothing, homewares, games, CDs and more.

Breakfast and lunch will e available from the 9am-1pm at the sausage sizzle.

Proceeds from the day will go to the YMCA’s Schools Breakfast Program and YMCA Cancer Survivors Program.

The YMCA Op Shop has received a community support grant from Moreton Bay Regional Council to build an additional onsite storage shed.

This will help the team of 27 volunteers manage excess stock donations.

A Mega Monthly Sale is also now being held on the last Saturday of each month with a 40 per cent storewide discount on Saturday June 24.

The YMCA Op Shop also recently won $2000 in a ‘Share the Love’ promotion run by Mango Hill Market Place, which recognised the work of community groups.

Zonta Club Redcliffe won $1000 with Mango Hill Progress Association, Busy Bees Play Group Mango Hill, Sweet Peanuts and Lions Club North Lakes receiving $500.

Customers voted by putting shopping receipts in allocated boxes.

YMCA Op Shop saw the win as “a reflection of the hard work, friendship, passion, teamwork of our amazing 27 local volunteers”.
