Free Christmas carols return
Four free Christmas carols events are coming to the City of Moreton Bay this December, with two popular celebrations moving to new locations.
The annual program will bring live entertainment, community performances, children's activities, visits from Santa and festive food to North Lakes, Caboolture, Redcliffe Peninsula and Pine Rivers.
All four events will run from 4-8pm, with fireworks planned at North Lakes, Redcliffe Peninsula and Pine Rivers.
This year's biggest changes are at Caboolture, where the carols will move to the Queensland State Equestrian Centre (QSEC), and Redcliffe Peninsula, which will host its celebration at Clontarf Beach State High School.
The four events are:
North Lakes Christmas Carols: Saturday, December 5, Kinsellas Sports Complex.
Caboolture Christmas Carols: Sunday, December 6, Queensland State Equestrian Centre (QSEC).
Redcliffe Peninsula Christmas Carols: Sunday, December 13, Clontarf Beach State High School.
Pine Rivers Christmas Carols: Saturday, December 19, Pine Rivers Park.
Each event will feature Santa's Village, opportunities for children to write letters to Santa, free activities, food vendors and live performances.
Mayor Peter Flannery said keeping the celebrations free was particularly important for families facing cost-of-living pressures.
"We know many households are continuing to feel cost-of-living pressures, which is why it's important we provide opportunities for people to enjoy a fantastic Christmas celebration without placing additional pressure on the household budget," Mayor Flannery said.
"Whether you're singing along to your favourite Christmas carols, watching the fireworks light up the night sky, sharing a picnic with loved ones or seeing the excitement on a child's face when Santa arrives, these events capture everything that's special about Christmas in City of Moreton Bay."
Residents are encouraged to bring picnic rugs and enjoy an afternoon and evening of entertainment.
The Christmas carols program is presented by City of Moreton Bay and delivered by Tourism and Events Moreton Bay.
