Gold rush at martial arts centre

PK Taekwondo, the North Lakes martial arts centre, struck gold 14 times at the weekend’s Gold Coast Open.

In total, the team of seven coaches and 26 competitors brought back 33 medals – 11 silver and eight bronze adding to 14 gold.

There were nine gold, seven silver and seven bronze from Sparring and five gold, four silver and one bronze from Technical.

Individual gold medal winners were:

Justin Naismith - Sparring Cadet / male / -41kg

George Patintingan - Sparring Cadet / Novice division

Evan Han - Sparring Cadet / male / -37kg

Noah Garland - Sparring Youth

Hajin Choi - Sparring Youth

Aria Lim - Sparring Youth

Elanor Dexter - Sparring Cadet / Red belt 2 divisions

Lester Faaofo - Sparring Junior / Red belt

Hayden Downing - Para-Poomsae

Daham Warakaulle - Poomsae

Amal Warakaulle - Poomsae

Amal and Juwon - Pair Poomsae

Jeffrey Park - Speed kick

PK Taekwondo is on Flinders Parade, North Lakes, where it opened in 2021.
