Grants to create positive change

Community groups in the City of Moreton Bay and across the state are encouraged to apply for funding for projects that support local women and girls.

The Investing in Queensland Women program offers grants of up to $15,000 for projects that create positive change for women and girls, address inequalities and promote respect.

“We have many local community groups that are passionate about creating a fairer and safer society for local women and girls,” said State Member for Bancroft Chris Whiting.

“I have been to many local events where these groups are fundraising and raising awareness about issues such as equality of education, and the impact of family and domestic violence.”

The Investing in Queensland Women grants program funds projects addressing sexual, domestic, and family violence prevention and mentoring and leadership opportunities.

Such initiatives strengthen healthy relationships, women's health and career pathways into male-dominated fields.

“I really encourage local groups who want to make life better for local women to have a look at this and see if they can create a project that makes a difference,” Mr Whiting said.

Applications are open until October 20, 2023. For more information click here
