Green light for new church and hall

Plans for a new church, community hall and caretaker’s accommodation in Burpengary East have been approved by Moreton Bay City Council.

My Father’s House Ministries has been given the green light to develop 486 Old Bay Road – a 15.3-hectare site.

However, the new buildings will just be in one corner using 1824sqm, on the high part of the block, by Old Bay Rd.

The rest of the block will – according to the development application - be transferred to council for “drainage and environmental use”.

The church building, covering just over 1600sqm, will include a main auditorium, community hall, office and administration areas.

A separate caretaker’s house, which will have a floor area 178sqm, will be constructed for the church pastor.

There will also be more than 100 car parking spaces, according to plans available on council’s DA Tracker website.

My Father’s House Ministries plans daytime and evening activities including Sunday services and youth events particularly on Fridays and Sundays.

There would also be daytime meetings and playgroups on the site, which is currently vacant.

My Father's House Ministries' social media page says it is currently based in Rowley Road, Burpengary.
