GYG reveals timeline for new restaurant

Mexican food lovers will soon be munching on their favourite meals with fast-food chain Guzman Y Gomez (GYG) announcing their new restaurant in Kippa-Ring is scheduled to open in mid-2023.

Heavy machinery has been spotted at the site where the new restaurant will be built on Elizabeth Avenue, which was once home to Beardy’s Bar and Kitchen.

This will be the sixth GYG restaurant to open in Moreton Bay, with restaurants already in Albany Creek, Arana Hills, Morayfield, North Lakes and Rothwell.

There are also plans to open another shopfront in Warner.

A spokesperson for GYG said they were excited to open here on the peninsula, especially given how popular their other restaurants are across the region.

“Since opening GYG North Lakes in 2013, the Moreton Bay community have continued to show their love for GYG,” the spokesperson said.

“The new GYG Kippa-Ring will allow more ease of access for the entire peninsula so you can get your favourite GYG fix for brekkie, lunch or dinner.

“As Australia’s fastest growing fast-food business, GYG’s mission is to reinvent what people know about fast-food.

“We are looking forward to bringing GYG’s 100 per cent clean and freshly prepared menu to Kippa-Ring.”

Jobs boost for the region

The restaurant at Kippa-Ring will offer both dine-in and drive-through options, and is expected to create 100 local jobs.

“GYG Kippa-Ring is looking to hire around 100 local crew, cooks, shift leaders and baristas,” the spokesperson said.

“If you share our same obsession with delicious fresh food and are looking for a job with an amazing culture, working with real food and real people, and where you’re guaranteed to learn and grow every day then GYG is the place.”

Applications are not open yet.
