Have your say on community events

The organisers of more than 52 community events across the City of Moreton Bay want feedback from residents about this year’s events to find out what they’ve done well and what can be improved.

Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) delivers the 12-month program of events for the City of Moreton Bay. These include Christmas carols, movie nights, music in the park, teddy bears’ picnics and family fun days.

As part of the agreement with council, MBRIT must conduct a survey using an independent organisation at the completion of 12 months of the contract.

The survey, being handled by EarthCheck, aims to find out what MBRIT is doing well, where it can improve, and what else residents would like to see on the community events calendar.

The survey does not include MBRIT’s large tourism events, such as Redcliffe KiteFest, Moreton Bay Food & Wine Festival and Jetty 2 Jetty.

MBRIT CEO Natassia Wheeler says responses will be anonymous and grouped together for analysis.

“Our events team receives feedback throughout the year, but this survey will give us really clear snapshot of the things residents love, how we can improve and the kinds of events they would love to see included on the community events calendar,” Ms Wheeler says.

“Your feedback will help shape the future of our community event calendar. If you can spare five minutes – we would love for you to please take the survey.”

The survey comes at the end of a busy 12 months during which the MBRIT team has delivered a record number of events.

“Our team has worked closely with Council, community groups and vendors to deliver a community events program we are really proud of. We can’t wait to do it all again in 2024,” Ms Wheeler says.

All completed survey entries go into the draw to win one of two family passes to some of MBRIT’s ticketed events in 2024.
