'Pawfect' way to help RSPCA

It can be ‘ruff’ to spend the holidays without a loving family, but the team from RSPCA Dakabin are doing everything they can to ensure the animals in their care feel the love this Christmas.

But they need your help.

As the RSPCA heavily rely on donations, staff and volunteers have released a Christmas wishlist featuring everything they will need over the coming weeks.

RSPCA spokeswoman Emma Lagoon said the donations will make an enormous difference.

“Any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated this year, and is sure to bring a smile to the faces of not only our volunteers, but also the animals they are caring for,” Emma says.

What they need

The RSPCA are desperately seeking pet products including clam shells for the dogs to cool down in throughout the summer months, treats for both dogs and cats, scratchers, towers and recycled paper litter.

Toys are also greatly appreciated, as they can relieve boredom, provide enrichment, and make those waiting for their forever homes feel loved and cared for.

In addition, their Christmas wishlist features a number of household cleaning items which will make tidying up easier. These include dishwashing liquid, disinfectant, large heavy duty garbage bags, paper towels, small, medium and large storage containers, as well as mops, brooms, dustpans and brushes.

Alternatively, gift cards from Bunnings, Coles and Woolworths for maintenance items and pet groceries are also welcomed.

Where to find them

The RSPCA Dakabin animal care centre is located on Goodwin Rd, Dakabin.

They are open Wednesday to Saturday from 10am-5pm, and Sunday from 10am-2pm.
