Hi-tech mecca for golfers

A NEW entertainment precinct that features hi-tech golf simulators, an 18-hole putt putt course, kitchen and bar has opened in North Lakes.

Players will have a ball practicing all elements of their golf game on the big screens at X-Golf, as well as navigating some amazing obstacles with a putter at Hey Caddy.

Assistant Manager Alanis McLaren says the team wanted to create a space that would provide hours of fun for golfers, families, teenagers, groups of friends and first dates.

“We at X-Golf and Hey Caddy want to be a place where parents with teenagers can go and spend some time together as a family, and where groups of friends can start their night before heading out into Fortitude Valley,” she says.

“It’s a place where you can play a round, grab something to eat and have a few drinks, because there’s not a lot of that in the North Lakes area.”

Test your skills

Whether you are a beginner or a professional player, anyone can book one of the six simulators and tee off on one of the world’s best golf courses in a stimulated environment which mimics the real game.

“With our marketing leading technology, you are able to play a full 18 holes including chipping and putting on legitimate courses from across the world,” Alanis says.

“Where it might take you four hours to play if you were there, here it only takes around 45 minutes per player, and you don’t have to worry about the rain.”

The 18-hole putt putt features brightly coloured holes, amazing art and takes you on a journey to different places around the world including the streets of New York and the Great Wall of China.

“Picking a favourite hole is tricky but the infinity hole would have to be my choice because it gives the illusion of being in a different universe and the bumpy putting surface and infinity mirrors makes for some really great gameplay," Alanis says.

“Our Area 51 hole is also a great one as it has a time limit which can be quite challenging.

“Holes range in difficulty with a few hole-in-one opportunities in there too, but you do have to bring your A-game.”
