Highway set for $7 million upgrade

More than 3.3km of the D'Aguilar Highway, between the Bruce Highway and Old Gympie Road in Caboolture, is to be resurfaced.

State Member for Pumicestone Ali King said the $7 million upgrade would make the highway safer for about 13,000 motorists who use it every day.

“As part of the works, we’ll be resurfacing the Bruce Highway on and off-ramps and overpass bridge, Pumicestone Rd and Old Gympie Rd, a,” Ms King said.

“The works are expected to take around four months to complete, weather and construction conditions permitting.

“We know how important upgrading this section of the D’Aguilar Highway is, so it’s great to see works are about to get underway."

To reduce impacts to nearby businesses, residents and motorists, all works will be carried out at night, Sunday to Thursday, typically between 6pm and 6am.

"Motorists can expect delays and increases in travel times when lane closures and detours are implemented during evening construction hours,” Ms King said.

It is part of the State Government's $29.7 billion road and transport plan for the next four years, supporting 25,200 jobs.
