Holiday plan after big Keno win

A much-needed holiday is on the horizon for an Albany Creek man after he won more than $119,000 at his local club on Thursday.

The man scored the Keno Classic 8 Spot winning entry in draw 898 and took home $119,803.30 after going for dinner at Albany Creek Tavern.

“Thank you very much!” he said when an official from Keno called to confirm the life-enhancing win.

“What a nice surprise. I just put some games on for a bit of fun and then hello! I couldn’t believe it.

'Maybe overseas'

“I have had a couple of close wins but never the jackpot prize. I’m very appreciative. It’s going to help us a lot.

“I’ll be taking the wife on holiday for sure! Not sure where to but maybe overseas.”

His winning Keno Classic 8 Spot entry was bought at Albany Creek Tavern, where staff said they were over the moon for their winning customer.

In FY23, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia celebrated more than 95.42 million wins collectively worth more than $1.34 billion.

Millionaires

During this time, Keno crowned 20 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively took home more than $46 million.

Eight of these major winners were Queenslanders, including a Rockhampton man who walked away with a $6.1 million prize.

Queenslanders had more than 26.8 million Keno wins totalling more than $427.15 million at pubs and clubs across the state in FY23.
